National Poetry Month – Day 28

Today’s prompt is inspired by “Ledge” by Kevin Young

The prompt: Write a list of twelve words you enjoy the sound of. Write an additional list of words with similar pleasant sounds that relate to the original list, either by matching vowel sounds, syllable counts, or consonant sounds – whichever parts please you the most. Next, use all of these listed words (and as many other words you need) to write a narrative poem that is, in some way, in conversation with grief. Let it be lyrical. Let yourself find pleasure in the music of your poem.
